Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a magical princess makeover experience inside Disneyland for children ages 3–12. During the experience, your little one gets transformed by a real Fairy Godmother-in-Training with hairstyling, makeup, accessories, and of course plenty of Disney magic.

There are several different packages available at a variety of price points, and many of them include a princess dress and accessories. After checking in, your child gets to choose their dress and change into their princess outfit before heading into the adorable salon area for their makeover.

Once seated in their fancy princess chair, the Fairy Godmother-in-Training begins the transformation with the hairstyle your child selected. They add sparkly glitter to the hair with a magic wand, paint their nails, and apply subtle kid-friendly makeup like lip gloss and soft shimmer eyeshadow.

But the most magical part happens at the very end.

After the makeover is complete, your little princess stands in front of a covered mirror holding her wand while the Fairy Godmother leads a special Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique chant. Then, with a magical reveal, the curtains open and your child gets to see themselves fully transformed for the first time.

It’s such a sweet and emotional moment — and honestly one of the most memorable experiences we had at Disneyland.

The Royal Photo Shoot

Depending on which package you choose, some experiences also include an adorable princess photo shoot — and honestly this ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire experience.

We usually choose the Kingdom Package, which is around $229, and in my opinion it is absolutely worth it for everything that’s included. Not only does your child get to choose from the higher-quality princess dresses, but the package also includes accessories like a wand, tiara, and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique backpack filled with the makeup products used during the makeover.

After the makeover is complete, your little princess is escorted by a cast member to a separate royal photo area for a mini photoshoot. The setup is honestly so magical. There’s a beautiful Cinderella-style carriage, adorable Disney-inspired animal props, storybook-style backdrops, and even a decorative horse for photos.

The photographers guide your child through different princess poses and really make them feel special throughout the entire experience. The photos ended up being some of my favorite pictures from our Disneyland trip.

Tips for Booking Reservations

One important thing to know is that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations can book up very quickly — especially during busy travel seasons and holidays.

Disney allows reservations to open 60 days in advance, and I highly recommend booking right when your reservation window opens if this experience is something your child is really hoping to do. I usually try to hop online right at the 60-day mark because the most popular time slots can disappear fast.

I have heard that same-day walk-ins are sometimes possible depending on availability, but personally I would feel way too stressed trying to rely on that for such a special experience.

If Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is high on your Disneyland must-do list, definitely try to plan ahead and secure your reservation as early as possible.

We’ve Made This a Disneyland Tradition

We loved Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique so much after our first experience that it has honestly become one of our favorite Disneyland traditions.

We first took our oldest daughter when she was 4 years old, and then the next time we visited Disneyland, we brought both girls after her little sister had finally turned old enough to participate too. We’ve now done the experience three different times, and somehow it still feels just as magical every single visit.

I was honestly a little nervous our oldest daughter might not be as into it the last time we went now that she’s getting older, but she absolutely loved every second of it. Seeing both of my girls light up during the makeover experience never gets old.

Personally, I really do think the entire recommended age range of 3–12 is perfect for this experience. Whether it’s your toddler’s very first princess makeover or your older child wanting one more magical Disneyland memory, Disney does such an amazing job making every child feel special.

Final Thoughts

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique truly ended up being one of the most magical experiences we’ve done at Disneyland. From the moment the makeover begins to the final princess reveal, Disney does such an incredible job making your child feel special the entire time.

Between the makeover, the princess dress, the magical cast members, and the royal photo shoot, it honestly felt like so much more than just a salon appointment — it felt like a core memory for our family.
