Disneyland Packing List for the Whole Family

Packing for Disneyland with kids can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re trying to balance comfort, convenience, and keeping everyone happy all day. After doing Disneyland with little kids myself, I put together this packing list based on what we actually used and were glad we brought. From stroller essentials to kid must-haves and parent basics, this is the exact list that helped make our trip smoother and more enjoyable. I’ve included photos from our trip and linked the items we used so you don’t have to guess what works.

Disneyland Packing List for Kids

Minnie Mouse Autograph Purse

One of our favorite Disneyland finds was this Minnie Mouse purse for character autographs. It made meet-and-greets feel extra special and was so much easier to grab quickly than flipping through an autograph book. Plus, it doubles as the cutest little keepsake after your trip.

Disney Simple Modern Water Bottle

These Disney Simple Modern water bottles were a lifesaver in the park. My kids loved choosing their favorite characters, and bringing our own bottles saved us so much money on drinks throughout the day. They’re lightweight, easy to refill, and kept water cold even in the afternoon heat.

👉 Grab the Disney Simple Modern Water Bottle we used here.

Whiskware Disney Snack Cups

These Whiskware Disney snack cups were such a hit with my kids at Disneyland. Each child could pick their favorite character, which made snack time more fun — and way less chaotic. The stackable compartments are perfect for packing different snacks without everything getting mixed together, and they were easy to toss in our backpack for the day.

👉 Shop the Whiskware Disney Snack Cups we used here.

Comfortable Walking Shoes for Kids

Good shoes are non-negotiable at Disneyland. My kids wear See Kai Run shoes because they’re flexible, lightweight, and actually comfortable for long park days. We’re easily walking 15,000–20,000 steps, so supportive shoes make a huge difference in avoiding tired meltdowns by mid-afternoon.

👉 Shop the See Kai Run shoes my kids wear here

Change of Clothes

Some Disneyland rides can leave kids soaked — and walking around in wet clothes for hours is not fun for anyone. I always pack a lightweight change of clothes in our backpack just in case. Even if you don’t use it for water rides, it’s a lifesaver for spills, accidents, or unexpected weather changes.

✨ Pro Tip: Pack items that are lightweight and easy to roll up so they don’t take up too much space in your bag.

Mickey Sunglasses for the Kids

Disneyland days are bright — and little eyes get tired fast. We packed fun Mickey sunglasses for the kids, and they were both practical and adorable for photos. They kept the sun out of their eyes while we waited in lines and added the cutest touch for character meet-and-greets.

👉 Shop the Mickey sunglasses we brought here

✨ Pro Tip: Toss an extra pair in your bag — sunglasses have a mysterious way of disappearing mid-park day.

Kids Sunscreen (We Use Sun Bum)

Disneyland means hours in the sun, and sunscreen is something I never skip. I like using Sun Bum for my kids because it’s gentle on their skin, easy to apply, and holds up well even when they’re sweating or going on water rides. I always choose at least SPF 50, especially since my kids are fair-skinned.

👉 Shop the Sun Bum sunscreen we use here

✨ Pro Tip: Reapply every 2 hours and don’t forget ears, necks, and the tops of little feet — those are the spots that always seem to burn first.

Disney Character Hoodies (Buzz & Woody)

Evenings at Disneyland can cool off quickly, especially once the sun goes down. We brought lightweight character hoodies for the kids (Buzz and Woody!), and they were perfect for layering without being bulky. Plus, matching outfits made our photos extra fun and memorable.

👉 Shop the Buzz Lightyear hoodie we used here

👉 Shop the Woody hoodie here

✨ Pro Tip: Size up if your trip is coming up soon — kids grow fast, and a little extra room makes layering easier.

Disneyland Packing List for Dad:

Aviator Sunglasses for Dad

Bright California sun + full park days = sunglasses are a must. A good pair of aviator sunglasses keeps the glare down during long waits in line and makes outdoor rides much more comfortable. My husband prefers classic Ray-Ban aviators because they’re lightweight, timeless, and hold up well for all-day wear.

👉 Shop the Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses here

✨ Pro Tip: Polarized lenses make a big difference on sunny days — especially around reflective surfaces like water rides and pavement.

“Fa-Thor” Disney Dad T-Shirt

Disney days are long, so comfortable graphic tees are always a win. My husband wore his “Fa-Thor” shirt, and it was such a fun conversation starter in the park. It’s soft, breathable, and perfect for dads who want to lean into the Disney fun without going full costume mode.

👉 Shop the Fa-Thor dad t-shirt here

✨ Pro Tip: Graphic tees photograph really well at Disney — especially in front of character statues or themed backdrops.

Comfortable Walking Shoes for Dad

Disneyland days mean a lot of steps, and supportive shoes make all the difference. My husband always wears comfortable athletic shoes that are already broken in — nothing ruins a park day faster than sore feet.

👉 See the Glycerin Brooks GTS 22 Supportive Shoe he recommends here

✨ Pro Tip: Never wear brand new shoes to Disney. Break them in ahead of time.

Balega Socks for Dad

Long days at Disneyland mean lots of walking — and uncomfortable socks can ruin an otherwise perfect park experience. Dad loves Balega socks because they’re cushioned in the right spots, breathable, and help prevent blisters even after miles of wandering through the parks.

👉 Shop the Balega socks Dad wears here

✨ Pro Tip: Pack a fresh pair for your second park day to keep feet feeling fresh and blister-free.

Apple Watch for Park Days

An Apple Watch is surprisingly helpful at Disneyland. Between tracking steps (it’s wild how many miles you walk!), checking notifications quickly, and using it alongside the Disneyland app, it keeps you from constantly pulling your phone out in crowded areas. It’s especially convenient when juggling snacks, strollers, and Lightning Lane return times.

👉 See the Apple Watch model he uses here

✨ Pro Tip: Make sure it’s fully charged before heading into the park — long days and lots of notifications can drain the battery faster than expected.

Lightweight Character Hoodie

Even if the day starts warm, evenings can cool off quickly. A lightweight hoodie (like the Woody one we wore for matching photos!) is perfect for layering without being bulky.

👉Shop the Buzz Lightyear hoodie here

👉 Shop the Woody hoodie here

Disneyland Nap & Comfort Must-Haves

Stroller Sound Machine

If you’re planning to stay in the parks all day, stroller naps are a lifesaver. We bring a small portable sound machine to clip onto the stroller, and it makes a huge difference in helping our little one fall asleep — even with park noise all around. It creates a consistent, familiar sound that blocks out sudden ride noises and crowd chatter.

👉 Shop the portable stroller sound machine we use here

✨ Pro Tip: Start the sound machine before they’re fully asleep so it becomes part of the wind-down routine.

Small Blanket for Stroller Naps

Even on warm days, a lightweight blanket makes stroller naps more comfortable. It helps block sun, adds a little extra coziness, and gives kids something familiar when they’re settling down in a busy environment. I always pack a small, easy-to-fold blanket that doesn’t take up much room in the bag.

👉 Shop the lightweight stroller blanket we bring here

✨ Pro Tip: Choose something breathable and compact — you’ll want it cozy, not bulky, especially when you’re carrying it around all day.

Disneyland Packing List for Mom

Anker Portable Charger

Between Lightning Lane return times, mobile ordering, photos, and checking wait times in the Disneyland app, phones drain fast. I always bring an Anker portable charger so I’m not stressing about finding an outlet halfway through the day. It’s compact, reliable, and charges quickly — which is exactly what you need during a long park day.

👉 Shop the Anker portable charger I bring here

✨ Pro Tip: Keep your charging cord in the same pocket every time so you’re not digging through your bag while standing in line.

Loungefly Disney Backpack

I love bringing a Loungefly Disney backpack to the parks because it’s both practical and fun. It’s the perfect size for carrying essentials like snacks, sunscreen, and a portable charger without feeling bulky. Plus, it adds the cutest pop to park photos and lets you lean into the Disney magic just a little more.

👉 Shop the Loungefly Disney backpack I carried here

✨ Pro Tip: Look for styles with side pockets — they make it much easier to grab your phone or water bottle quickly while waiting in line.

Comfortable Walking Shoes for Mom

Disneyland is easily 15,000–20,000 steps in a day, so comfortable shoes are non-negotiable. I always wear supportive sneakers that I’ve already broken in so I can focus on enjoying the day instead of thinking about sore feet.

👉Shop my Reef sandals here
👉 Shop the Women’s Brooke Glycerin 22 supportive shoe I wear here

✨ Pro Tip: If you’re between sizes, go with the roomier fit — your feet swell after hours of walking.

Disney Owala Water Bottle

Staying hydrated at Disneyland is non-negotiable, especially when you’re walking all day in the sun. I bring my Disney Owala water bottle because it keeps water cold for hours and is easy to drink from one-handed (which is huge when you’re pushing a stroller or juggling snacks). Refilling at water stations throughout the park saves money and keeps everyone feeling better by the afternoon.

👉 Shop the Disney Owala water bottle I use here

✨ Pro Tip: Fill it with ice before leaving in the morning — it’ll still be cold well into the afternoon.

Aviator Sunglasses for Mom

Bright California sun + long park days = sunglasses are essential. I like wearing aviator-style sunglasses because they’re lightweight, comfortable for all-day wear, and easy to throw on without worrying about them clashing with outfits. A good pair cuts glare while waiting in outdoor lines and makes photos look polished without trying too hard.

👉 Shop the aviator sunglasses I wore here

✨ Pro Tip: If you’re riding faster attractions, tuck them into a secure pocket or zip pouch so you’re not scrambling before takeoff.

Garmin Smartwatch (Fenix 7S Sapphire Solar)

I personally wear a Garmin smartwatch to the parks, and I love it for long Disneyland days. It tracks steps (which is always wild to see by the end of the night), lets me quickly check notifications without constantly pulling out my phone, and helps me stay aware of time for Lightning Lane return windows. The battery life is incredible, which makes it perfect for full-day park adventures.

I wear the Garmin Fenix 7S Sapphire Solar (pictured below), but if that exact color isn’t available, the same watch in other colors is linked below — same features, same great battery life, just a different color option.

👉 See the Garmin smartwatch here

✨ Pro Tip: Start your day with a full charge and turn off unnecessary notifications so the battery easily lasts from rope drop to fireworks.

Disneyland Safety & Peace of Mind

Apple AirTags for Kids

Disneyland is busy, and even the most responsible kids can get separated in a crowd. We use Apple AirTags for extra peace of mind — especially in high-traffic areas or during parades. They’re small, easy to tuck into a backpack or pocket, and give an extra layer of reassurance on long park days.

👉 Shop the Apple AirTags we use here

✨ Pro Tip: Slip the AirTag into a small zip pouch inside their backpack so it’s secure but still trackable.

Apple AirTag Bracelet for Kids

For younger kids especially, I like using an AirTag bracelet instead of just placing the tracker in a backpack. It keeps the AirTag securely on their wrist so it stays with them even if they set their bag down or switch strollers. It’s a simple layer of extra peace of mind in busy areas like parades, ride exits, or character meet-and-greets.

👉 Shop the AirTag bracelet for kids here

👉Shop AirTag Pin Holder for kids

✨ Pro Tip: Choose a comfortable, adjustable band so it doesn’t bother them during long park days — if it’s comfortable, they’re much more likely to keep it on.

EpiPen Holder Case

If your child carries an EpiPen, having it easily accessible is so important. We use a compact EpiPen holder that keeps everything organized and easy to grab if needed. It fits neatly in our backpack without taking up too much space, but still keeps medication protected and ready.

👉 See the EpiPen holder case we use here

✨ Pro Tip: Keep emergency medication in the same pocket every time so you don’t have to think twice if you need it quickly.

Disneyland Packing List for Babies

Visiting Disneyland with a baby takes a little extra planning, but having the right items on hand makes the day so much smoother. These are the baby essentials we found most helpful for long park days.

  • Diapers & wipes — Bring more than you think you’ll need for a full day in the park. If you forget any, Disneyland and California Adventure have a baby center in the parks and they can help you (ask a cast member and they will direct you).
  • Baby Carrier (like the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier)
A baby carrier is a lifesaver at Disneyland—especially for waiting in long lines. It keeps your baby close, calm, and secure while leaving your hands free, and it’s so much easier than maneuvering a stroller through crowded areas. Great for quick rides, stroller parking zones, and soothing baby during busy park moments. Also, baby can go on LOTS of rides so this carrier made waiting in lines so much easier with baby!
  • Portable changing pad — Helpful for quick changes in stroller or restrooms.
  • Extra outfit (or two) for Boys and for Girls (linked here)— Spills, blowouts, or water rides happen.
  • Muslin blanket (love these ones)— Great for stroller naps, shade, or cooler evenings.
  • Sound machine — Helped block out noise and encourage stroller naps.
  • Bottles / formula or breast milk — Easy to store in an insulated bag.
  • Baby snacks or pouches — Convenient for quick feedings on the go.
  • Pacifier or comfort item — Familiar items help in busy, overstimulating environments.
  • Baby sunscreen & Sunhat (linked here)— Sun protection is a must, even on cloudy days.

For Back At The Room:

Packing smart made a huge difference in how smoothly our Disneyland days went with little kids. This list includes the items we actually used and would bring again for future trips.

Hatch Sound Machine

After a full day at Disneyland, good sleep is everything. We bring our Hatch sound machine to the hotel so bedtime feels familiar and consistent. It helps block out hallway noise and keeps our normal sleep routine intact — which makes the next park day so much smoother.

👉 Shop the Hatch sound machine we use here

✨ Pro Tip: Turn it on while you’re getting ready for bed so it signals wind-down time just like at home.

Disney Pajamas

There’s something extra fun about ending the day in Disney pajamas after being in the parks. The kids love it, and it makes for the cutest hotel photos. I always pack soft, breathable pajamas so everyone stays comfortable after a long, busy day.

👉 See the Disney pajamas we packed our girls

👉 See the Disney pajamas we packed for our son

✨ Pro Tip: Pack pajamas in your carry-on if you’re flying — nothing derails bedtime like digging through luggage late at night.

Travel Pack and Play

If you’re traveling with a baby or toddler, having a safe and familiar sleep space is huge. We bring (or request) a pack and play so bedtime feels consistent and secure, even in a new environment.

👉 See the pack and play option we recommend here

✨ Pro Tip: If your hotel provides one, call ahead to confirm availability so you’re not scrambling at check-in.

Disneyland is one of those trips where preparation truly changes everything. The right shoes, snacks, chargers, and comfort items can mean the difference between stressed and smooth. After multiple park days with kids, this is the list that has consistently worked for our family.

If you’re planning your own trip, save this guide and use it as a packing checklist before you go. It’s so much easier to enjoy the magic when you know you’re prepared.

Wishing you long naps, short wait times, and lots of core memories at the Happiest Place On Earth. ✨🏰
