When Emily told me she wanted a Tangled birthday party, I knew we had to bring a little bit of Rapunzel’s magic home. Purple and gold balloons, lanterns, cake pops, and the longest braid we could find — it ended up being one of my favorite birthdays we’ve ever done.
If you’re planning a Tangled-themed party, I’m sharing everything we used (mostly Amazon finds!) to make it easy and doable at home.

Balloon Arch & Backdrop
I knew I wanted the party to feel bright and magical, so I chose a purple, pink, and yellow balloon garland to match Rapunzel’s colors. It ended up being the statement piece of the whole room.
We followed a simple balloon arch tutorial on YouTube to put this together, and it was much easier than I expected!

Tangled Happy Birthday Sign: this sign was from Etsy. We draped this on top of the Rapunzel Amazon backdrop to bring the look together!
Balloon Pump: (we used this one to blow up all those balloons).
Cake Pops & Dessert Table
We kept the dessert table simple but fun. Mike made cake pops again this year, and the purple coating with gold sprinkles matched the Tangled theme perfectly.

Stainless Steel bowl: Mike used this for making the cake pops
Rapunzel Dress & Accessories
The Rapunzel dress was her absolute favorite part of the whole day. The braided extension with flowers made her feel like she stepped right out of the movie.

Tangled Dress: this dress was from Disney’s website. They’ve redesigned since our party so I linked a similar one for you. What I love about dresses from Disney is the quality is amazing! They are beautiful and can withstand your little one wanting to wear it for days on end!

Activities
To keep things easy, we focused on one main activity — the bounce house — and a simple photo booth area. It kept the kids entertained without overcomplicating the day.

Bounce house (my kids LOVE this one)
“Wanted” sign: this was from Etsy and currently is not available.
Flameless candles (we used these to put in the hanging lanterns). Kicking myself for not getting pictures of these!
Tangled coloring book party favors: the kids LOVED these!
Sun stencils: I used these on yellow construction paper to make “suns” to hang around the party, just like in the Tangled movie! It took some time but it was a fun craft to do for the party! The kids won a prize for whoever could find them all!
🎨 Face Painting
We added face painting to make the party feel extra magical, and it was such a hit with the kids. From sparkly unicorns to princess crowns, it gave everyone that “royal” touch and made the photos even more fun. If you’re hosting a themed birthday, I highly recommend adding something interactive like this — it keeps the kids entertained and makes the day feel so special.

Surprise Visit from Rapunzel
The absolute highlight of the party was the surprise appearance from Rapunzel herself. Seeing Emily’s face when she walked in was something I’ll never forget. She read a story, took photos, and made every little guest feel like royalty. It was such a magical moment and completely worth it if you’re wanting to create a memory that lasts forever.

Throwing this Tangled-themed birthday party was so special for our family. Watching Emily light up, seeing all the little princesses twirl around, and creating those magical memories at home made all the planning completely worth it. You don’t have to go over-the-top to create something beautiful — a few thoughtful details, fun decor, and a little imagination go a long way.

I’ve linked everything we used to make it easy for you to recreate this party at home. Save this post for later and let me know if you end up hosting your own Tangled celebration — I’d love to see it!
